FINS FACT
Growing up in Cleveland, Ted had the benefit of having his father, Ted Sr., as his coach and mentor. His father has been the football coach at Glenville High School in Cleveland since 1997 and the track coach there since 2002. In fact in 1999, Glenville became the first Cleveland Municipal School to reach the State Playoffs and made six subsequent appearances from 2000 to 2005. Ted Jr. played for his father during his prep career and credits his father with preparing him for the future.  "It helped a lot," said Ted Jr. of having his father as a coach. "It prepared me well for all different sorts of situations. He never showed any favoritism towards me, in fact he might have been harder on me to make me an example. It prepared me well for the next levels and now, because I played for him, I feel as though I can adjust to any type of coach."

Was a first-round draft choice (9th overall) of the Dolphins in 2007 ... Was the second wide receiver taken in the draft, behind only Detroit's Calvin Johnson (2nd overall).

2009 - For the season finished third on the Dolphins in receptions with 38 catches for 454 yards and one touchdown and added seven rushes for 48 yards ... Also has 52 kickoff returns for 1296 yards and two touchdowns, an average of 24.9 yards per return ... Ranked sixth in the AFC in kickoff returns ... Started 12 games this season and played in a reserve role four times ... Led the Dolphins in receptions once and in receiving yardage twice this season ... In his career he has two 100-yard receiving games (108 yards on Sept. 21, 2009 vs. Indianapolis and 175 yards on Oct. 26, 2008 vs. Buffalo), and the Dolphins are 1-1 in those contests.

RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS: Ginn has no rushing touchdowns this season ... With two touchdown runs in his career, Ginn has two of the five TD runs by a wide receiver in Dolphin history and is the only one to have more than one.

KICKOFF RETURNS: On Nov. 1st at N.Y. Jets had two kickoff returns he brought back for touchdowns, the first coming on a 100-yard return for a TD and the second for 101 yards and a touchdown ... They were the second and third longest kickoff returns in Dolphin history, behind only Mercury Morris' 105-yard kickoff return on Sept. 14, 1969 at Cincinnati. Ginn became the first player in NFL history with two kickoff returns of 100 or more yards in the same game (a feat later matched by Josh Cribbs of the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 20, 2009 at Kansas City) ... Both of Ginn's returns came in the third quarter, and he is only the second player in NFL history to record two kick returns touchdown in the same quarter, along with Green Bay's Travis Williams, who had kickoff returns of 87 yards and 85 yards for touchdowns in the first quarter (including the opening kickoff) on Nov. 12, 1967 vs. Cleveland in Milwaukee County Stadium ... Ginn became the eighth player in NFL history with two kickoff returns for touchdowns in the same game. Ginn's 299 yards in kickoff returns is the second highest game total in NFL history, surpassed only by the 304 kickoff return yards by New Orleans' Tyrone Hughes vs. the L.A. Rams on Oct. 23, 1994 ... His 299 yards also set a new Dolphin team record, breaking the former mark of 215 yards, set by Travis Minor on Oct. 13, 2002 at Denver ... PLAYER OF THE MONTH/WEEK: Ginn was named as AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 1-2nd ... He won that award when he had six kickoff returns for 299 yards and two touchdowns on Nov. 1st at N.Y. Jets ... The two scores came on a 100-yard return for a TD and the second for 101 yards and a touchdown ... They were the second and third longest kickoff returns in Dolphin history, with both taking place in the third quarter ... It also was only the eighth time in NFL history two kickoffs were returned for touchdowns in the same game by the same individual ... Ginn's 299 yards in kickoff returns set a new Dolphin single game record for most kickoff return yardage ... It was Ginn's first career NFL weekly honor ... He also was the first Dolphin to win the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week this year and the first since kicker Dan Carpenter was honored for his Week 14 efforts against the Buffalo Bills in Toronto in 2008 ... GAME HIGHLIGHTS - VS. HOUSTON (DEC. 27): On Dec. 27th vs. Houston led the Dolphins in reception yardage with five catches for 82 yards.

AT N.Y. JETS (NOV. 1): On Nov. 1st at N.Y. Jets had six kickoff returns for 299 yards and two touchdowns ... The two scores came on a 100-yard return for a TD and the second for 101 yards and a touchdown ... They were the second and third longest kickoff returns in Dolphin history, with both taking place in the third quarter ... VS. N.Y. JETS (OCT. 12): On Oct. 12th vs. N.Y. Jets had two catches for 57 yards and one touchdown, coming on a 53-yard TD pass from Chad Henne ... That touchdown catch came with 10:10 left in the fourth quarter to give the Dolphins a 24-20 lead in a game they would eventually win 31-27 ... At the time it was the third longest reception of his career.

VS. INDIANAPOLIS (SEPT. 21): On Sept. 21st vs. Indianapolis led the Dolphins in receptions and receiving yardage with 11 catches for 108 yards ... His 11 catches represented at the time a new single game reception total career high, surpassing his previous high of seven receptions, which he accomplished twice previously ... It was his first career game of ten or more catches, and his 11 catches also was tied for the third highest single game reception total in Dolphin history. His 108 yards in receptions marked the first time in 2009 and the second time in his career he went over 100 yards in receptions.

2008 - Played in all 16 regular season games with 14 starts ... Became a multi-threat player as he excelled as a receiver, returner and rusher ... Led the Dolphins with career highs in receptions (56) and reception yardage (790), and also hauled in two touchdowns receptions... Rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on five carries  ... As the Dolphins main return threat, racked up 657 kickoff return yards ... Enters 2009 season having recorded a catch in each of his last 28 games ... Led the team with five catches for 49 yards at New England (9/21) ... This figure established a new club record for a rookie, as he broke the previous mark set by Wes Welker in 2004 ... It also was the fourth-highest single-season figure overall by a Dolphin.

LONGEST PUNT RETURNS IN DOLPHINS HISTORY: On November 18, 2007 at Philadelphia, Ginn fielded a Sav Rocca punt at his own 13-yard line and raced the length of the field for the first touchdown of his career on American soil ... Not only did it tie Tom Vigorito for the longest punt return in team history, but Ginn became the seventh different Dolphins rookie (8th time) to bring back a punt for a score ... It was the first punt return for a touchdown by a Dolphins rookie since O.J. McDuffie in 1993.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: First reception of NFL career came in week three contest at N.Y. Jets (9/23) when he hauled in a 15-yard pass from Trent Green ... Had back-to-back games with 30+-yard receptions when he hauled in a 36-yard pass at Houston (10/7) and a 32-yarder the following week at Cleveland (10/14) ... Also in the Texans game, he accounted for a season-long 52-yard kickoff return, as he averaged a season-best 35.2 yards on five returns that day ... The Browns game marked the first start of his career as he opened nine of the final 11 games of the year ... Initial touchdown catch of NFL career occurred against Giants in London (10/28) when he took in a 21-yard pass from Cleo Lemon in the fourth quarter ...
