2018 Miami Dolphins Schedule

Posted Apr 19, 2018

The Dolphins will open the 2018 regular season at home against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. ET.

It will mark the first time since 2014 that the Dolphins open at home, although they were scheduled to open at Hard Rock Stadium last season before their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was postponed until November because of Hurricane Irma.

For the second consecutive season, the Dolphins will finish against the Buffalo Bills, although this time the game will be at New Era Field. The Dolphins will face Buffalo twice in the final month of the season, with the first matchup scheduled for Dec. 2 at Hard Rock Stadium.

It will be one of three home games in December, along with a matchup against the New England Patriots on Dec. 9 and a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16.

Based on the schedule announced Thursday by the NFL, the Dolphins could have as many as 15 of their 16 games slated for 1 p.m. Eastern time.

The one definite exception will be a Thursday night game against the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium in Week 8. That game, scheduled for Oct. 25, will kick off at 8:20 p.m.

The one game that stands out on the schedule is the Week 16 matchup against the defending AFC South champion Jacksonville because it could be played either Saturday, Dec. 22 or Sunday, Dec. 23.

In a new twist to the NFL schedule, there will be multiple flex games in Weeks 15 and 16. For Week 15, there will be two games on NFL Network, with kickoff times of 4:30 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. ET. In Week 16, there will be four games scheduled for Saturday. The flex games for Weeks 15 and 16 will be announced no later than following Week 8, with the non-Saturday games to be played on Sunday.

The Dolphins’ bye week will come in Week 11, sandwiched around road games against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 11 and against the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 25.

The Dolphins do not have any long stretches at home or away from home in 2018.

Following the opener, the Dolphins will face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in Week 2 before returning home to face the Oakland Raiders on Sept. 23.

The Dolphins then will play back-to-back road games, against New England on Sept. 30 and against the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 7.

That will be followed by consecutive home games against NFC North opponents, the Chicago Bears on Oct. 14 and the Detroit Lions on Oct. 21.

Following the Thursday night game against Houston, the Dolphins will be back at Hard Rock Stadium to face the New York Jets on Nov. 4.

The first of the two December road games will take place Dec. 16 when the Dolphins face the defending NFC North champion Minnesota Vikings.

The Dolphins also announced their preseason scheduled Thursday, complete with dates and times.

The Dolphins will open against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. ET before facing the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

The third preseason game will be against the Baltimore Ravens at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. before the Dolphins close things out at Atlanta on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m.
