99 Days Of 99 Jersey Numbers: #94

Posted Jun 5, 2014

This jersey has had a mixed history, with only two true starters ever wearing the number.

As we tick the days off to the season opener against the Patriots on Sept. 7, each day we highlight the players who wore that particular jersey number during their tenure in Miami. In some cases, the player and jersey number are synonymous. In other cases, the jersey number represents sustained greatness at a particular position. Whatever the case may be, jersey numbers are an important part of the fabric of professional football.

This jersey has had a mixed history, with only two true starters ever wearing the number – defensive linemen Keith Traylor (2005-07) and Randy Starks (2008-2014). One of the other players to wear that number is probably more recognizable his history elsewhere – defensive tackle Steve Emtman, who played two years in Miami (1995-96) and started five times. But like Dan Wilkinson, Emtman is better known as one of the four Dolphins who were once the first overall pick of the draft; the Indianapolis Colts made him the first pick in the 1992 draft.

The complete list of Dolphins who have worn #94 includes Larry Kolic (1986); *Tim Pidgeon (1987); Greg Mark (1990); Craig Veasey (1993-94); Emtman (1995-96); Jermaine Haley (2000-02); Dario Romero (2003-04); Traylor (2005-07) and Starks (2008-13).
