The running back is one of three nominees for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week.

Jay Ajayi’s tremendous performance in the victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers has him nominated for an NFL weekly award for the second time this season.

Ajayi is one of three nominees for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, along with David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals and LeSean McCoy of the Buffalo Bills.

Against the Steelers, Ajayi became the fourth running back in Dolphins history (including playoffs) to rush for more than 200 yards when he gained 204 yards in the 30-15 victory at Hard Rock Stadium. Ajayi also scored two touchdowns, including a game-clinching 62-yard run in the final minute.

Fans can vote for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week winner by going to the NFL Twitter page (@NFL) and tweeting the nominee’s name plus #AirAndGround.

Ajayi was among the nominees for the Week 3 Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week after his overtime touchdown run gave the Dolphins a 30-24 victory against the Cleveland Browns in their home opener. The award that week went to Washington Redskins safety Su’a Cravens for his fourth-quarter interception against the New York Giants.
