Branden Albert Engages Season Ticket Members In Exclusive Conference Call

Albert fielded questions from the media when he signed with the team last month, but tonight it was the Season Ticket Members’ turn to get to know the Pro Bowl tackle.

As part of the organization’s Membership benefits program, Dolphins Season Ticket Members were treated to an exclusive conference call with new offensive tackle Branden Albert. Miami’s marquee free agent signee engaged with fans on the call and talked about what he hopes to bring to the Dolphins.

The team’s new benefits program kicked off a few weeks ago with the Membership Launch Party at Sun Life Stadium. Members should keep an eye out for save-the-dates to upcoming events.

Tonight’s highly interactive conference call, moderated by Troy Stradford of the Finsiders, lasted about 35 minutes. The call covered a variety of topics, ranging from how the Pro Bowl tackle fits into the team’s offense and how he hopes to have an impact on the South Florida community.

Ken, a Season Ticket Member from Plantation, asked about Albert’s ability to help protect Ryan Tannehill while manning the all important blind side of the third-year quarterback. Albert responded by saying that he’s proved himself playing that position and that the situation he’s now in will make it easy to slide right into that spot.

“I’ve been doing the job now for seven years in my career, and I’m battle tested. I think I consider myself one of the best,” Albert told the Members. “I feel like I’m in a situation with good coaching and good teammates. I’m just a piece of the puzzle, and I’m here to fit and do my job, and my job is to block, open the holes for the running backs, and help this line be cohesive. I feel like I have a good idea on how to do my job with the pieces that we have, and I’m very confident I can get my job done.”

When asked about his best asset by Peter, a Member from Miami, the Pro Bowler talked about his poise under pressure.

“I would have to say that I’m pretty poised. I don’t get rattled too much. I tell everybody that I’m not perfect; I don’t sit here and say I don’t get beat. I get beat, everybody gets beat. But I stay poised,” said Albert. “I have a good amount of poise that if things go wrong I can pull myself together and help pull my teammates.”

Now while Albert will most certainly make an impact on the field, he’s excited about making contributions off the field in the South Florida community. Paul, another Season Ticket Member, asked Albert about what he expected his role to be in the community.

“I’m the type of guy that I don’t do things for the camera. I do things out of the goodness of my heart,” said Albert. “Whatever the team has me doing I want to do because that’s part of the deal, that’s part of being a football player. This is a privilege, this is a thing that can be taken away from you at any given moment. So we’ve got to do the things we have to, and one thing is reaching out to the fans and the people in the community, because that’s who supports us. That’s who gives you the support needed to do your job.”
