Carpenter's 58-Yard Field Goal Third Longest In Team History

Posted Jan 1, 2012

Thanks to a timely interception by defensive end Randy Starks of Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, kicker Dan Carpenter drew the Dolphins within four points at the half.

He drilled a 58-yard field goal as time expired to make it a 10-6 ballgame. That was the third longest field goal in the regular season in franchise history and the second longest of Carpenter’s career. He hit a 60-yardr last year at home against the Cleveland Browns.
