Clemons Sporting New Hairdo

Posted Oct 22, 2012

Fifth-year safety grew tired of his long dreads

Back before the start of training camp there was a fashion revelation among some of the veteran Dolphins players regarding their hair. Sean Smith, Davone Bess, Nolan Carroll and Tony McDaniel all cut off their dreadlocks, leaving safety Chris Clemons as the lone holdout.

Now Clemons has joined the group, shedding his legendary long dreads last week the day after the last media availability. So this morning inside the bubble was the first time he showed off his new look.

“I just thought it was time for a new look and I just got tired of it, just the maintenance,” Clemons said. “I feel lighter and a little faster, too.”

Fellow safety Reshad Jones was slightly taken aback when he saw Clemons for the first time and he let his teammate know what he thought about the change.

“He looks funny. I told him he’s got a little pea head now,” Jones said. “It was surprising and shocking to me but I think what Davone, Sean, Nolan and Tony did eventually got to him.”
