The NFL Play 60 Super School program is part of the league’s Back to Football efforts that awards deserving elementary and middle schools around the nation. Each school that entered the contest had to submit essays detailing their commitment to eating right, health, and wellness for their youth.
In the South Florida area, North Beach Elementary was the chosen winner. All winning schools each receive a Super School visit consisting of an NFL player (or players) from their local team, a $10,000 grant check from the NFL, and an NFL Play 60 Ultimate Fitness class.
Decked out in their Miami Dolphins gear, the students gathered in the school's courtyard as Dolphins players
As fun workout music set the tone for the class, the students stretched and then rotated between the workout stations led by the Dolphins participants. Dolphins mascot TD even got involved! By the end of the day, both students and members of the Dolphins enjoyed the benefits of the program while appreciating just how important health and wellness is for everyone.
“It’s been a great time. All the kids were very excited, all of them had a blast running around and (its good) for them to see a professional athlete still take being physically fit serious while having a lot of fun.” Fields said of the event. "Just get that message out to stick with it when you’re young and keep having fun with it!”
