The Miami Dolphins visited Chapel Trail Park in Pembroke Pines last Saturday for the first Dolphins Blitz of the youth football season in an effort to impact the kids of the local community. To see photos from the event, click here.
The event took place during the West Pines Wildcats game against the Pembroke Pines Optimist Bengals, and included a day full of fun activities for kids.
The Blitz allowed local children to experience hands-on football drills while participating in other extracurricular activities associated with the Miami Dolphins, such as the Dolphins Fun Bounce & Quarterback Toss along with two interactive football drills.
“I thought we had an excellent first Blitz,” Miami Dolphins Youth Programs Director Twan Russell said. “To see the kids running around and having a good time in a safe, healthy environment, it’s a wonderful thing.”
The Blitz also featured appearances from four Miami Dolphins alumni, including Donald Brown, James Brown, Chris Conlin and Elmer Bailey, who took pictures and signed autographs with participants. The Dolphins will continue to do Blitzes throughout the youth football season.
