Dolphins-Chiefs Thursday Injury Updates

One of the Dolphins rookies could be getting closer to playing in his first NFL game.

The big news from the Dolphins injury report Thursday was the indication that rookie defensive end Terrence Fede took part in practice, albeit on a limited basis, for the first time since the start of the regular season. Fede, the seventh-round pick from Marist College, has been sidelined because of a knee injury he sustained in the preseason.

Fede’s status was one of five changes on the Dolphins injury report from Wednesday. Wide receiver Brian Hartline (back) and defensive tackle Randy Starks (toe) both were removed from the injury report after being listed as full participants Wednesday; safety Louis Delmas (calf) was a full participant in practice after being limited Wednesday; and linebacker Jonathan Freeny (calf) was added with limited participation in practice.

For the second consecutive day, LB Koa Misi (ankle), RB Knowshon Moreno (elbow) and G Shelley Smith (knee) did not participate, while the limited participants included T Branden Albert (shoulder), TE Charles Clay (knee), LB Jelani Jenkins (shoulder), C Mike Pouncey (hip), LB Jordan Tripp (chest), G Billy Turner (foot) and LB Philip Wheeler (thumb).

Finally, safety Walt Aikens (hand) had full participation for a second consecutive day.

For the Chiefs, the big news was that running back Jamaal Charles (ankle) practiced on a limited basis after being held out Wednesday. The other player with limited participation Thursday was starting linebacker Tamba Hali (ankle/knee).

Safety Eric Berry (ankle) did not practice for a second consecutive day and he was joined as a non-participant Thursday by rookie running back De’Anthony Thomas (hamstring), who had limited participation Wednesday.

The eight players on the Chiefs’ injury report with full participation remained the same as Wednesday: S Husain Abdullah (foot/quadricep), WR Dwayne Bowe (quadricep), RB Cyrus Gray (foot), WR Frankie Hammond (shoulder), WR Junior Hemingway (hip), C Eric Kush (shoulder), LB Josh Martin (quadricep/tricep) and WR Albert Wilson (ankle).
