One of South Florida’s most popular 7-on-7 high school football tournaments is back for a 6th consecutive year. The Miami Dolphins will host their annual 7-on-7 tournament on June 15-16, and over 40 tri-county area and Southwest Florida teams are expected to participate. The tournament will begin on Saturday, June 15 at Central Park in Plantation from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. and will kick off with Round Robin play before moving into a single elimination format. The final 8 teams will play on Sunday, June 16 at Sun Life Stadium that will crown one high school football champion.
The winning high school team will represent South Florida and the Miami Dolphins in the 2013 HSPD National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio on July 11th – 14th. Former winners Booker T. Washington and Glades Central have won the national championship in previous years. “This is one of our most anticipated events of the year,” Miami Dolphins Youth Programs Director Twan Russell said. “I look forward to seeing all the high school teams compete in the tournament, and I expect a great turn out.” The following teams are signed up:

Washington, Calvary Christian, Cardinal Newman, Carol City, Columbus, Coral Reef, Coral Springs, Coral Springs Charter, Dillard, Douglas, Dwyer, Flanagan, Fort Lauderdale, Glades Central, Hialeah, Homestead, John I Leonard, Jupiter Christian, Mater Academy, Miami Country Day, Miami Edison Senior, Miami Jackson, Miami Killian Senior, Miami Pace, Miami Springs, Miramar, Monarch, Mourning Senior, Norland, Palm Beach Lakes, South Plantation, Stranahan, Taravella, University School and Vero Beach.
