Dolphins Sign Russell From Practice Squad

Safety joins active roster from the practice squad.

The Miami Dolphins signed safety Anderson Russell from the practice squad.

The 6-0, 208 pound Russell signed with Miami on September 7, 2011 and spent that season on the team’s practice squad and was with the Dolphins throughout the 2012 preseason. Russell also played in two games with the Washington Redskins in 2010 after originally joining the team as undrafted college free agent.

He attended Ohio State where he notched 38 career starts and six career interceptions. Russell was also a Big-Ten All Academic choice with the Buckeyes.

Born May 20, 1987, Russell attended Marist High School in Atlanta, Georgia.
