The Miami Dolphins paid a visit to Bob Graham Educational Center in Miami Lakes, stopping by the school for a Gatorade Junior Training Camp (JTC), and nearly 500 students participated in the event. The JTC, which consisted of six interactive football drills, cheerleader routines and the “Dol-Fit” message, was a day full of fun and learning for everyone involved.
“I thought the JTC had outstanding participation from everyone involved,” Dolphins Manager of Youth Programs Troy Drayton said. “We had a great time and I enjoyed getting to know these students.”
The camp started with Miami Dolphins Youth Programs Manager Troy Drayton talking to the kids about the importance of getting an education, staying physically fit and making positive choices in life, which are all components of the “Dol-Fit” message.
After the children learned the significance of those principles, they were taught six interactive football drills, consisting of running, passing and throwing the football, with a focus on the fundamentals of the game.
The students were also given beginner-level cheerleader routines from a current Miami Dolphins cheerleader.
Overall, the day was a lot of fun for the students of Bob Graham Educational Center.
