The Miami Dolphins Youth Programs Department stopped by South Miami Senior High School for a Gatorade Junior Training Camp (JTC), impacting nearly 150 children with physical disabilities with a day full of fun and excitement.
The training camp consisted of a few football drills and the “Dol-Fit” message.
“It made the kids feel part of the organization, and they thoroughly enjoyed it,” Supervisor Mike Bromir said. “Some of the children said it was the best day of their lives.”
The JTC began with Dolphins Youth Programs Coordinator Troy Drayton speaking to the children about the importance of eating healthy, staying physically fit and making positive choices in life.
Then, the students were treated to a variety of interactive football drills.
“I think the camp went really well. You could tell it really made the children happy,” Drayton said. “I am glad we could bring a smile to their faces.”
The Miami Dolphins Youth Programs’ mission is to emphasize the importance of education, physical fitness, and positive choices for kids in a safe and fun environment.
