Get To Know: Lamin Barrow

Getting to know new Dolphins linebacker Lamin Barrow, who was among 12 players recently signed to reserve/futures contracts.

• He is listed at 6 feet 1, 237 pounds.

•  Lamin Samboujang Barrow was born Nov. 29, 1990 in Marrero, Louisiana.

• Barrow finished the 2016 season on the Dolphins practice squad, which he joined during the final week of the regular season.

• Barrow was released by the Chicago Bears on Dec. 5, 2016 after being placed on injured reserve Aug. 31 because of a foot injury.

• In 2015, Barrow played 16 games for the Chicago Bears, whose coaching staff that year included Dolphins head coach Adam Gase.

• Barrow’s NFL career began in 2014 when he played 16 games for the Denver Broncos, who made him a fifth-round selection in the draft that year.

• Gase was a member of the Denver coaching staff in Barrow’s first NFL season.

• Barrow made one start for the Broncos as a rookie in 2014.

• Barrow played collegiately at LSU, where one of his teammates was Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

• Barrow was among nine LSU players selected in the 2014 NFL draft, a group that included Landry and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

• As a redshirt senior in 2013, Barrow earned second-team All-SEC honors.

• Barrow played 51 games for LSU and made 28 starts.

• Barrow majored in general studies at LSU.

• Barrow played high school football at John Ehret HS and earned Louisiana Class 5A All-State honors as a senior.

• He has three siblings: Vaughn, Deshown and Claude.

• Barrow’s father is a native of Gambia, Africa.
