— Adam Gase likes what Damien Williams brings to the offense.

“I think the understanding is there. Now it just comes down to less thinking, more reacting.”
— Adam Gase says second-year wide receivers Leonte Carroo and Jakeem Grant keep making strides.

“We kind of showed what we could do last week against a good team, so hopefully we can carry it over to this week.”
— Jay Ajayi is looking for another strong performance against the Jets.

“It’s been good. I feel like I’ve been fresh for games.”

“We’re still growing. It’s still early in the season. Just trying to get better every day.”
— Lawrence Timmons doesn’t want make predictions for the Dolphins defense but clearly likes what he has seen.

“For the past couple of weeks, we’ve gotten better as a team. We just can’t work to go out there and play on Sunday.”
— Rey Maualuga likes the progress the Dolphins have been making.

“For him to trust me and to take that chance, I’m just grateful and glad to be here.”
— Rey Maualuga has been reunited with former Bengals assistant Matt Burke, who is now his defensive coordinator.

“I remembered seeing Miami on ‘Hard Knocks’ a couple of years ago and (thinking) how crazy it would be to actually play out here. Things happen for a reason.”
— Rey Maualuga admitted it has been a bit strange to find himself with a new team after playing nine seasons in Cincinnati.

— Michael Thomas believes the formula against the Jets is pretty simple.

“Obviously coming off a win is better than coming off a loss, but you gotta take this week as a new challenge.”

— Michael Thomas doesn’t believe the victory against Atlanta mean anything this week.

“Shoot, I love what Coach Burke brings, explaining to everybody the why. Why are we running certain coverages? Why he wants us to play with certain leverage. That’s been the biggest difference and I think it gives guys a different sense of purpose.”
— Michael Thomas is a fan of first-year defensive coordinator Matt Burke.

— Jets head coach Todd Bowles has been impressed with Jay Ajayi.

“This is another opportunity to come out here, especially after the performance that we had the first time we played these guys and put something better on tape and come out here with a W. That’s the only mind-set that we really have approaching this one.”
— Jarvis Landry is looking for some payback against the Jets.

— Jarvis Landry understands the importance of division games.
