Coach Gase and select players met with the media following practice

Head Coach Adam Gase, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, guard Jermon Bushrod, offensive lineman Anthony Steen and defensive back Walt Aikens addressed the media at the Baptist Health Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University on Wednesday.

Here were the comments that stood out, along with some perspective:

— Gase pointed out that wide receiver DeVante Parker has changed his off-the-field routine since joining the Dolphins.

“He’s made some huge strides throughout the spring. He’s done a really good job of diving into the playbook. He’s made some really good plays. It just comes down to consistency.” — Gase discussed the progress of Jakeem Grant, who is hoping to become a bigger factor on offense.

— The topic of offseason conditioning has come up a few times this week, and Gase pointed to Cameron Wake as perhaps the one player who does it best.

— Suh has been impressed by rookie first-round pick Charles Harris.

“Some of the music they listen to is not necessarily to my liking. But I like being around the young guys.”
— Suh has welcomed the arrival of rookie defensive tackles Davon Godchaux and Vincent Taylor.

— Because he recently turned 30, Suh’s legacy has become a topic of conversation.

I’m going to enjoy it until training camp comes. It’s just some time for guys to refocus and to get their bodies right and their minds right.”
— Bushrod is looking forward to the time away from the facility after the conclusion of minicamp Thursday.

— Bushrod likes the fact that Gase isn’t afraid to say when he believes he’s made a mistake.

— Steen came up with a good line when he talked about the swarm of bees in the corner of the end zone where Parker caught a touchdown pass in practice.

— Steen says he’s willing to line up either at guard or center.

— Aikens enjoys the contributions he’s able to make on special teams.

— Like his teammates, Aikens understands the five-week break coming up isn’t really a vacation.
