Broward teen receives $1,000 from BankUnited at the "4 Downs for Finance" award reception.

Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry and and BankUnited Chairman, President and CEO John Kanas presented 15-year-old Sunrise resident and Piper High School student Nicole Emrick with the grand prize of $1,000 for her winning essay in the 4 Downs for Finance financial literacy essay contest. Emrick was one of 12 weekly essay contest winners who were recognized during the regular football season.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue to educate kids about finance,” Landry said. “I’m proud to give Nicole a prize for her winning essay.”

BankUnited, a proud corporate partner of the Miami Dolphins, wrapped up its fifth year as sponsor of the 4 Downs for Finance financial literacy essay contest. 4 Downs for Finance encourages Florida students to access age-appropriate money tips throughout the football season and submit an essay on a financial literacy topic.
