As part of the organization’s new and enhanced commitment to its fan base, and specifically to those fans that have made a commitment to the Dolphins by purchasing season tickets, an exclusive conference call was held with General Manager Jeff Ireland. One week before the start of free agency, Ireland was ready for the information-starved audience of more than 2,900 as he fielded questions live on the phone and via e-mail for a little over 30 minutes.

“I’d like to thank all of the season ticket holders, suite holders, club seat holders and all of our business partners for your support,” Ireland said. “I think it’s an exciting time to be a Dolphin fan, a season ticket holder and this is an exciting time of the year for me obviously with the draft around the corner. We’re full-fledged in football mode right now with a new coaching staff in place and we’re all real excited to get things going.”

Fresh off of the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and his press conference there, Ireland had to come away impressed with the intelligence and passion of those asking the questions on this call. Miami’s fan base has long been considered among the most knowledgeable in the league and did not disappoint.

“Boy, these are good questions,” Ireland said in response to one conveyed through e-mail by call moderator Jesse Agler of The Finsiders.

When the conference call ended just before 8 p.m. and somewhere around 15 questions were asked, Ireland had covered just about every topic imaginable. Dolphins CEO Mike Dee stepped in to take on the non-football questions related to ticket prices, possible stadium modifications now that the Florida Marlins are gone and other incentives for fans to get excited again.

Callers also were given a chance to talk directly with their ticket representatives during the call or after they asked their question.

The Dolphins clearly are intent on starting off the Joe Philbin Era in exciting fashion when it comes to taking care of their season ticket members. This conference call with Ireland is just one of a handful of new initiatives geared towards developing a closer and stronger connection between the team and its most loyal fans.

Future conference calls with other members of the Dolphin family are on the list as well as exclusive meet and greets with players and exclusive access, unique experiences and special savings.

Agler reminded the callers near the end about the draft party open exclusively to season ticket members on the first night of the 2012 NFL Draft, Thursday, April 26th at Sun Life Stadium. There also will be a special Mother’s Day event in May and a Father’s Day event in June. Club seat members will be receiving their renewal packets sometime in the coming week.
