The Miami Dolphins have signed offensive tackle Patrick Brown and safety Tyrone Culver. The team also placed offensive tackle
Jake Long on Reserve/Injured List and waived defensive back Anderson Russell.
The 6-5, 310-pound Brown re-joins Miami after spending three weeks with the Dolphins during the 2010 season. More recently Brown saw action in 15 games during 2011 season with the Minnesota Vikings after spending the final six weeks of the 2010 season in Minnesota following his release by the Dolphins on November 9, 2010. Brown initially joined the Dolphins after being waived by the New York Jets on September 23, 2010. The offensive tackle was originally signed by the Carolina Panthers by a college free agent after the 2009 draft. He was waived by Carolina in September 5 and spent time of the practice squads of the New England Patriots and Vikings before joining the Jets on September 5, 2010. Brown was a four-year starter at left tackle for Central Florida, where he made 50 consecutive starts, the longest streak in the nation when he finished his career. He was named Golden Knights most outstanding player on offense in 2008. Born, December 25, 1986, Brown attended St. Charles North High School in Illinois.
Culver was with the team during training camp prior to being released on September 1, 2012. Culver is in his 7th year in the NFL, after being drafted in the 6th round out of Fresno State in 2006. He spent the last four season (2008-2011) with the Dolphins, appearing in 62 games with 6 starts.
