Publix chefs give the group tips on nutritional snack choices.

The Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization (MDWO), including Diane Philbin, hosted a Healthy Cooking class at Publix for ten girls from Walter C. Young Middle School.

The Publix chefs gave the group tips on nutritional snack choices and how to prepare wholesome meals including turkey meatballs, whole wheat penne, grilled chicken teriyaki lettuce wraps and cholesterol-free cheesy frittata with garden veggies. The girls were accompanied by one of their school staff members, Ms. Dean, who is a breast cancer survivor. The girls were also given tickets donated by Jake Long to the upcoming Miami vs. Tennessee game on November 11th.

The Healthy Cooking class was part of the NFL's Hometown Huddle. The NFL-United Way Hometown Huddle is a league-wide day of service designed to bring awareness and impact to the issue of youth health and fitness.
