Lea, a Navy veteran, lives with her 79 year old mother and 16 year old daughter, an aspiring soldier and ROTC student. The home has been a part of the Lea family for the last 33 years and has experienced significant deterioration over the last several years. Of the three bedrooms in the home, only one of three were being used and shared by Leslye and her mother, as the other two had buckets in them to catch the water during the rainy season.

“The Lea family is a special family and we are so grateful Rebuilding Together connected us with them,” said Ilona Wolpin, Miami Dolphins Sr. Director of Community Relations. “We want to thank our partners and all the volunteers that joined us over the past few months to help at their home.”

Members of the Miami Dolphins, including current players Tyrone Culver and Nate Garner as well as members of the Miami Dolphins staff and special teams volunteer program put the finishing touches on the house and kitchen and installed window treatments donated by Dade Paper. Best Buy in Davie provided the family with two televisions and a stand, Rooms To Go donated furniture to furnish the house while DynaServ will take care of the outside of the house by donating the landscaping.
