Miami Dolphins Host Fins And Kids Back To School Kickoff

Dolphins hand out approximately 125 backpacks and school supplies to students.


Miami Dolphins players, cheerleaders and MDWO members handed out approximately 125 backpacks and school supplies to students from various Dade (Auburndale Elementary and Lenora B Smith Elementary) and Broward (Flamingo Elementary and Oriole Elementary) schools and the NFL YET Center at Doctors Hospital Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University. Elevation Burger also donated food for the kids at the event.

The afternoon’s festivities began with a dance contest that was emceed by Brian Hartline and judged by the players at the team’s indoor practice facility. After the dance contest, participants received backpacks filled with different materials from the Miami Dolphins to assist them in the upcoming school year.

“This is one of our player’s favorite events every September and they look forward to this,” said Ilona Wolpin, Sr. Director of Community Relations “The students had a great time and giving backpacks and school supplies will definitely make a positive impact on their education this year."

Members of the Miami Dolphins cheerleading squad, Diane Philbin and a host of players including Charles Clay, Brandon Fields, Nate Garner, Brandon Gibson, John Jerry, Reshad Jones, Jonathan Martin, Vaughn Martin, Rishard Matthews, Lamar Miller, Koa Misi, R.J. Stanford, Randy Starks, Caleb Sturgis, Marcus Thigpen, Jason Trusnik, Mike Wallace, Philip Wheeler and Will Yeatman took part in this afternoon’s event.
