The Miami Dolphins Youth Programs travel around South Florida to spread an important message and impact the youth in a positive way through football.
Each week, the Dolphins visit different schools, asking students to take the “Dol-Fit” pledge.
The Dolphins asked the students of Imagine Charter School at Broward to take that pledge on Thursday during a Gatorade Junior Training Camp (JTC), with nearly 500 students participating in the event, which consisted of football drills and cheerleader routines.
“I think because the kids have a super hero image of the Dolphins and look up to them, it is great,” Imagine Charter School at Broward Principal Linda Arnold said. “When they give a program that emphasizes making positive choices, studying hard and exercising, that message is very important.”
The camp began with Miami Dolphins Youth Programs Coordinator Troy Drayton explaining the “Dol-Fit” pledge, which has three primary cornerstones- eating right, staying physically fit and making positive choices.
After the message, the students participated in six interactive football stations, emphasizing offensive and defensive drills that featured hurdles, knock-away dummies, ladders and halfback pads.

It was an event that was not only fun, but made an impression on the students of Imagine Charter School.
“I think the kids really learned a lot today. They were very engaged in our message and were happy to take the pledge to be Dol-Fit,” Drayton said. “I really enjoyed hanging out at Imagine Charter today, and I hope we return in the future.”
Imagine Charter School at Broward, home to approximately 860 students, has their own health initiatives, including “Healthy Living” classes and healthy food options in its cafeteria.
The Miami Dolphins Youth Programs’ vision is to prepare the next generation of leaders in staying physically active through their Junior Training Camps (JTC), Youth Football Clinics and Youth Football Camps.
