Posted Oct 25, 2012

Former Dolphins Pro Bowl linebacker is as successful off the field.

Former Dolphins All-Pro linebacker Kim Bokamper will be recognized by the Dolphins Business Alliance (DBA) for his business success next Tuesday at his Bokamper’s Miramar location.

It will take place during the weekly Touchdown Club luncheon that Bokamper hosts at noon, as he becomes the third former linebacker to earn the honor, joining Bob Brudzinski and John Offerdahl. The award recognizes Miami Dolphins alumni that have established themselves in the business world following their football career.

Bokamper was a first-round pick of the Dolphins in 1976 and spent 10 years with them, earning Pro Bowl honors in 1980 and playing in two Super Bowls. After retiring from the NFL in 1985, he pursued a career in broadcasting and has worked in television at CBS-4 since 1996 and at a few different local radio stations. He opened his first Bokamper’s Sports Bar in Plantation and also has a location in Naples in addition to the newest one in Miramar.

##In keeping with the rivalry theme, the first song played during the team’s stretching and warm-ups was the theme from “New York, New York,” by Frank Sinatra.

##Punter Brandon Fields warmed up his leg inside the practice bubble by hitting the roof more than once, preparing for the expected windy conditions at MetLife Stadium.
