A welcome sight inside the practice bubble this afternoon was the return of center Mike Pouncey. He was in the stretching line at the beginning, so that was a very good sign considering he missed the first start of his career last week against San Diego against San Diego. … Head Coach Joe Philbin kept the team inside for the duration after being given a weather report that called for inclement weather, but the clouds ended up staying away and the sun came back out. He held Tuesday’s practice outside for the entirety.

Country music performer Chas Rice led things off for the second straight day, this time with his hit, “Ready, Set, Roll.” Then it was a trip back to the 1980s with “Candy,” by Cameo before it was back to the present with “Let’s Go,” by Calvin Harris featuring Ne-Yo.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a pocket quarterback throwing the ball down the field or if it’s a guy that can run like a running back, either way you don’t want explosive plays on your defense. So obviously he’s an explosive player just like we’ve faced in the past and our task is to not let him make those kinds of plays.” – defensive end Cameron Wake on defending Panthers quarterback Cam Newton
