Nine Youth Teams Crowned Champions At The 4th Annual Miami Dolphins Championship Series

The goal of the Dolphins Championship Series is to truly crown the best teams in South Florida

Miramar, FL – The Miami Dolphins concluded the 4th Annual Miami Dolphins Championship Series Presented by Under Armour and Generation Nexxt at the Miramar Ansin Sports Complex on Saturday, Dec. 20 by crowning nine youth football teams from two prominent youth football leagues in the area: American Youth Football League (AYFL) and Florida Youth Football League (FYFL). Below are the following champions in their respective age groups.

Overall, six of the nine champions came from the AYFL. The Plantation Wildcats and Miramar Wolverines each took home two titles and the Davie Broncos and Pembroke Pines Bengals took home one. The city of Miami Gardens won the other three titles with two going to the Ravens and one going to the Chiefs in the FYFL. This is the third consecutive Dolphins Championship Series in which the AYFL has won the most championships, with four of its teams winning last year.

“The goal of the Dolphins Championship Series is to truly crown the best teams in South Florida,” Miami Dolphins Manager of Youth Programs Troy Drayton said. “Our hope is to make this event the most prestigious trophy in all of youth football. The tears shed by the champions as well as the runner-ups show you just how much this game and weekend means to them.”

14U (Unlimited): Miami Gardens Chiefs defeated Polk County Titans (MFFCC) 40-0

“I told all of my kids to enjoy the moment, you don’t know when it’s going to happen again,” Plantation Wildcats 12U Head Coach Rob Jones said. “I’m just happy that they were able to experience it and have success. This is a special group of kids and you see it when they’re on the field, so it’s awesome.”

The mission of the Miami Dolphins Youth Programs’ is to emphasize the importance of education, physical fitness, and positive choices for kids in a safe and fun environment. The Miami Dolphins Youth Programs’ vision is to prepare the next generation of leaders in staying physically active through its Junior Training Camps (JTC), Youth Football Clinics, and Youth Football Camps.
