Dolphins defensive tackle Jared Odrick hosted a Back to School Haircut event at Hall of Fame Barber Shop in Plantation, Fla.

A total of 30 boys between the second and eighth grades from Myrtle Grove K-8 traveled up to the barber shop and were treated to a free haircut, Miami Dolphins goody bags and plenty of player autographs. They even got tips from Odrick on perfecting the Pee Wee Herman dance. Odricks’s teammates were on hand to support the cause, including Brandon Fields, Jonathan Freeny, Julian Posey, Kheeston Randall, Derek Shelby, Paul Soliai, RJ Stanford and Olivier Vernon. Diane Philbin, Katie Fields and Tasha Soliai, each a member of the Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization (MDWO), also came out to the event.

Caden, a student at Myrtle Grove said, “It’s really nice; they let us choose what kind of haircut we want. I really appreciate coming out here.”

“I wanted to bring kids in for Back to School haircuts. It’s something that I valued as a kid, something that goes hand in hand with having a new pair of sneakers for the first day of school,” said Odrick. “We are out here having fun doing it.”
