PREGAME NOTES: Carroll To Miss Final Game; Other Notes

Posted Dec 30, 2012

Starting cornerback among Miami’s inactives today.

FOXBORO, Mass. – Third-year cornerback Nolan Carroll will be unable to go today against the New England Patriots, as the frigid temperatures likely weren’t the best medicine for his knee.

Joining Carroll on the inactive list are wide receiver Davone Bess, quarterback Pat Devlin, rookie linebacker Josh Kaddu, offensive tackle Patrick Brown, tight end Kyle Miller and rookie defensive tackle Kheeston Randall.

For the Patriots, newly signed wide receiver Kamar Aiken, cornerback Marquice Cole, defensive backs Alfonzo Dennard and Nate Ebner, offensive linemen Nick McDonald and Markus Zusevics and defensive end Jake Bequette are inactive.

With the Dolphins and Patriots players down on the field warming up and the fans brushing snow off of their seats in the stands, the Gillette Stadium people decided to provide a little important entertainment.

The live CBS broadcast of the game between the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans from Indianapolis was being shown on both on the large video boards in both end zones. The outcome of that game has significant bearing on the Patriots and their playoff seeding.

##Wide receiver Brian Hartline needs one catch to reach 70 for the season and become the 11th player in franchise history to reach that milestone. It’s been done 16 times.

##Running back Reggie Bush needs 40 yards to reach 1,000 for the second straight season and join Hall-of-Famer Larry Csonka and Ricky Williams as the only Dolphins running backs to do that.

##Linebacker Kevin Burnett needs one tackle to reach 100 for the second straight season and middle linebacker Karlos Dansby needs five more tackles to reach 100 solo for the second time in his career.
