PREGAME NOTES: Wilson's Hip Injury Lands Him On Inactive List

Miami’s secondary a little thin with second-year DB not active.

SAN FRANCISCO – Second-year defensive back Jimmy Wilson is going to miss his first game of the season with a hip injury and converted tight end Will Yeatman is active as a tackle for the first time in his career.

Wilson’s absence will test the depth of the secondary for the Dolphins, but with R.J. Stanford and Bryan McCann having increased their workload in recent weeks, the transition shouldn’t be too tough.

Quarterback Pat Devlin, cornerback Michael Coe, rookie linebacker Josh Kaddu, offensive tackle Patrick Brown, rookie tight end Michael Egnew and tight end Kyle Miller joined Wilson on the inactive list.

For the San Francisco 49ers, quarterback Scott Tolzien, safety Trenton Robinson, running backs Jewel Hampton and Brandon Jacobs, guard Joe Looney, wide receiver Mario Manningham and nose tackle Ian Williams are inactive.

There were no changes to the starting lineup for either team and the weather conditions couldn’t be more ideal. There’s a slight breeze but it’s sunny with clear blue skies and pleasant temperatures.

Taking a cue from the loud and loyal Dolphins fans that invaded MetLife Stadium in October for the Jets game, the Northern California Dolphins Fan Club showed there is strength in numbers in the parking lot at Candlestick Park.

An estimated 150 fans claimed their piece of real estate overlooking the bay and proudly displayed their aqua and orange colors. Radio play-by-play voice and former Dolphins tight end Joe Rose paid them visit and helped pass out Dolphins hats to the crowd in appreciation for their support. It was just another example of how spread out the Dolphins fan base really is.
