Panthers DT Edwards Makes Free Agent Visit With Dolphins

Nine-year veteran defensive tackle meets with Fins.

The Dolphins today hosted unrestricted free agent defensive tackle Dwan Edwards, who played last season with the Carolina Panthers, on a visit.

Edwards, who was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft, has played with the Ravens (2004-09), Buffalo Bills (2010-11) and Panthers (2012). Overall, Edwards, in nine NFL seasons, has recorded 280 tackles, including 11.5 sacks, and two interceptions.

Prior to joining the NFL, Edwards attended Oregon State University. He was a two-time All-Pacific-10 Conference selection, and finished his career with 12.5 sacks, 159 tackles (30 for a loss), three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and three pass deflections. He graduated in 2003 with a degree in business administration.
