(On how high Dion Jordan was on his personal radar leading up to the Draft) – “You know he has, as Jeff mentioned, a unique skill set. Obviously some of the things that flash at you are his ability to rush the passer. You’re ability as a defense to put pressure on the quarterback is something that you are always looking to do and we thought he had some unique skills. He’s a football player that can do a lot of different things, and so I was excited about it.”
(On his initial thoughts following the trade) – “I was all for it. We talked about it. We discussed it. You’re never sure how things are going to unfold and this was a guy that certainly Jeff had discussed it with me prior and we were fortunate enough to get him.”

(On how the decision of where to play Martin factors in to the rest of the Draft) – “He’s a guy that’s demonstrated an ability to play either position. We’re going to see how things unfold here in the next couple of weeks. We’re not getting on the field for a while. So we’ll see how it goes.”
(On the changes to the roster) – “Jeff and his staff have spent a lot of time since December 30th (evaluating the roster). Our staff has spent a lot of time analyzing what we did well, what we didn’t do well, what’s available, what isn’t available. All those things. There was a lot of factors that we took into consideration in all the moves that we made. Some things happen cause they happen and we’re happy about the guys that we’ve been able to acquire. It’s tough to keep all the good football players. We certainly lost some guys that we have a lot of respect for, but that’s kind of the nature of the NFL.”
(On if he would like Jordan to add bulk) – “We’ve got to get our hands on him a little bit (and) work with him a little bit to find out what is his ideal weight and those type of things. I’m not going to sit here and say that we want him to be 265 pounds. We’ll see. Maybe his body isn’t going to function and do some of the things he can at that (weight). He may be able to.”
(On the defense getting faster and if he thought they were a little slow last year) – “Not necessarily. Again, it’s just we did a thorough review of everything that we did. We looked at a lot of different things, a lot of different combinations. We didn’t know if all of them were going to be able to work, not work and we’re excited about the guys that we added, specifically Dion Jordan today.”
(On if he’s happy with the offseason conditioning attendance) – “I’m delighted about the guys we’ve had (here). I don’t know the exact number. I think it’s around 98 percent and I think it’s been excellent attendance. We’ve had some classroom work. We’ve had a lot of strength and conditioning work and (I’m) really delighted with what the guys have done so far.”
