As was the case when the Dolphins opened the regular season at Houston last September, the roof at Reliant Stadium will be closed for tonight’s preseason game.

The decision became official Saturday afternoon.

The forecast for the Houston area at kickoff time (8 p.m. ET) calls for temperatures of 90 degrees, with 37 percent humidity and winds out of the north-northeast at 10 mph.

The Dolphins’ captains for tonight’s game at Houston will be guard Richie Incognito, and linebackers Koa Misi and Jason Trusnik.

Former Dolphins great Richmond Webb is expected to attend tonight’s game, according to Fox Sports Florida.

Webb, who lives in Houston, played for the Dolphins from 1990-2000 after being the ninth overall pick in the 1990 NFL draft and was a Pro Bowl selection in each of his first seven seasons.

Webb told Fox Sports Florida he was hoping to get a sideline pass and meet Jonathan Martin, the man who is playing his old position.

Based on player participation in practice this week, the following Dolphins players aren’t likely to play against the Texans: guard John Jerry, guard/tackle Nate Garner, defensive tackle Randy Starks, defensive end Dion Jordan.

Josh Samuda is expected to start at right guard in place of Jerry and Jared Odrick is expected to start at defensive tackle in place of Starks.

Eight Dolphins players with Texas ties will be playing tonight at Houston; tight end Michael Egnew (Plainview, Texas), wide receiver Jeff Fuller (Texas A&M), linebacker Alonzo Highsmith (Elkins High School in Sugarland, Texas), fullback Jorvorskie Lane (Texas A&M), defensive tackle Kheeston Randall (University of Texas), defensive tackle Tracy Robertson (Baylor), defensive end Derrick Shelby (Hightower High School in Sugarland, Texas), quarterback Ryan Tannehill (Texas A&M).
