Team activates wide receiver from practice squad and downgrades Martin to out on injury report.

The Miami Dolphins have promoted wide receiver Ryan Spadola from the teams practice squad to the active roster, the team announced.

Additionally, the Dolphins have downgraded T Jonathan Martin (illness) from Doubtful to Out for tonight’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 6-3, 200 pound Spadola joins Miami’s active roster after spending the past three weeks of the 2013 season on the teams practice squad. He originally entered the NFL with the New York Jets following the 2013 NFL Draft, signing with the team as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2013. After making the Jets roster out of training camp, Spadola saw action in two regular season games and was inactive for one game prior to being released on October 5, 2013.

A three time All-Patriot league selection, Spadola played in 48 games over a four-year career at Lehigh University. He completed his career with 232 catches for 3,611 yards, the second most receptions and yards in school history, and 24 touchdowns. During his junior season he was an All-American selection after setting a Patriot League single season record with 1,614 receiving yards. Born on February 15, 1991, Spadola attended Freehold Township High School in Freehold Township, New Jersey.
