PRESS RELEASE: Dolphins Make Roster Moves

The Dolphins announced a pair of roster moves on Friday afternoon.

The Miami Dolphins have signed linebacker Ryan Rau and waived/injured linebacker Tariq Edwards, the team announced.

The 6-1, 230-pound Rau joins the Dolphins after spending time in 2014 with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. In 2013, Rau spent time during the year with the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles. Rau originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent following the 2012 NFL Draft with the Eagles and spent the majority of the 2012 season on Philadelphia’s practice squad prior to being signed to the active roster on December 8, 2012. A four-year letterman at Portland State, he appeared in 43 games with 32 starts and finished his career with 267 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and five passes defensed. Born July 30, 1989 in Folsom, Calif., Rau attended Folsom High School in Folsom, Calif.
