PRESS RELEASE: Dolphins Sign John Denney To Contract Extension

Longest tenured Dolphin inks extension to stay in South Florida.

The Miami Dolphins have extended John Denney’s contract through the 2016 season, it was announced today.

The 6-5, 255-pound, Denney enters his ninth season in the NFL, all with the Miami Dolphins. In his career, he has played in 128 consecutive games, which places second all-time in Dolphin history. Denney has amassed 34 special teams tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery over his career. He originally joined the Dolphins as a undrafted free agent following the 2005 NFL Draft.

Denney played collegiately at Brigham Young where he was a three-year letter winner at defensive end, appearing in 32 games with 29 starts, while also serving as the Cougars long-snapper. Born December 13, 1978 in Denver, Colorado, Denney attended Horizon High School in Thornton, Colorado.
