PRESS RELEASE: Dolphins Sign Tripp, Hazel

Team inks fifth and sixth round draft choices.

The Miami Dolphins have signed linebacker Jordan Tripp and wide receiver Matt Hazel, it was announced today.

Tripp was Miami’s second fifth-round selection (171th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft out of the University of Montana. He played in 54 career games with 36 starts for the Grizzlies. He completed his career with 335 tackles, 11 sacks, 10 fumble recoveries with three touchdowns, five interceptions with one touchdown and five forced fumbles.

Born April 3, 1991 in Missoula, Montana, Tripp attended Big Sky High School in Missoula, Montana.

Hazel was Miami’s sixth-round selection (190th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Coastal Carolina. He played in 49 career games with 38 starts while with the Chanticleers, he completed his career with 183 receptions for 2,553 yards (14.0 average) and 28 touchdowns. He also had three rushes for 20 yards and a touchdown.

Born January 23, 1992 in Augusta, Georgia, Hazel attended North Augusta High School in North Augusta, South Carolina.
