THIS AND THAT
You were the most popular guy on the team following your game-winning touchdown in overtime against Baltimore. What was that experience like? "The first couple days following the game were a lot of fun. Just being able to see the highlights on TV and getting all the support from my friends and family - people I haven't heard from in ages. It was a lot of fun and good to receive the support. My phone was out of control for the first couple of days."
Starting as a walk-on punter when you arrived at Stanford, how did you make the switch to wide receiver? "When I met with Coach (Ty) Willingham I kind of talked him into letting me try receiver. He always said the best player at the position would play regardless if you were a walk-on or a scholarship athlete. So they treated me like anybody else and gave me a shot. After a couple years with some good coaching and some hard work I was able to see the field."
Following the disappointment of last season, what kind of things were you able to take from the experience to help you in the future? "To always keep fighting. After 13 losses, a team that is a group of individuals is going to quit, but a team that is going to stick together is going to fight through and get a win. We basically faced the hardest times a team will face. So the lesson we took from that is stick together - you can eventually pull it out."
You've only been in the league for two years and have already gone through several quarterback changes. Is it hard to develop a rhythm and a comfort level when different guys are going in and out like that? "Yes, there's definitely a trust factor between a receiver and a quarterback. The quarterback needs to trust whether the receiver is going to be where he needs to be. And there's just the chemistry between the receiver and the quarterback. I spent my first year in San Diego with Cleo Lemon. We spent a lot of time on the scout team so I feel like we have a little bit of chemistry together. But obviously the more time you spend with a quarterback the better you get to know him."
You've been on two different coasts on two different teams now. What are your likes and dislikes about the East and West Coasts? "I feel pretty fortunate to have been in San Diego and Miami. Two places where there's really no winter. I'm a California guy so I'm used to warm weather. I love the weather and I love the atmosphere out here. It's hard adjusting to the heat and humidity, but when it was December and it was 80 degrees out here every day I can't complain about that."

If I didn't play football … I would be doing something in engineering. That's what my degree is in. If I could play a musical instrument … it would be saxophone. I played it in middle school. I wouldn't mind continuing with that. One word that best describes me is … determined. As a kid, I always wanted to … play professional sports. Three celebrities that I would invite to a New Year's party would be … E-40, Eva Mendes and Stacy Dash. Something I like to do after a game to relax is … go out to eat with the family. The most trouble I got in when I was a kid was … when I got caught throwing eggs on Halloween. The best wide receiver in the NFL right now is … Terrell Owens.
