Week 9
The boo-birds were wide awake when Brett Favre was first spotted walking out of the tunnel for pregame warm-ups. They remained vigilant every time he touched the ball in the first quarter. The 71,213 screaming fans made for the largest regular season crowd in Lambeau field history. None of this interfered with Favre’s performance. He went on to complete 17 of 28 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns without an interception as the Vikings beat the Packers 38-26.
Aaron Rodgers – threw for only 38 yards in the first half but finished with 287 and 3 touchdowns. It was a long day for Rodgers who was noticeably limping at times during the game. He was terrorized once again by the Vikings defense as his protection broke down early and often. Rodgers has now been sacked a totally of fourteen times in both games combined. Vikings defensive end Jared Allen is responsible for half of those sacks (7.5) and currently leads the NFL with 10.5 sacks. Start all of your defensive lineman (IDP) against the Green Bay Packers offense.
The Packers realize their chance of winning the division is slipping away, but are still alive in the wild card race. These two teams can meet in the playoffs but until then we have to recognize that Favre has been nothing short of spectacular (515 yards 7 TDs with zero interceptions) against the franchise that wrote him off. When it’s all said and done this could arguably be the best season of Favre’s career, but when it’s time for the Hall of Fame we all know which team he will be playing for – the Green Bay Packer Packers.
These players are surefire starters in Week 9:

Fantasy Expert Q & A With Monday Morning QB
A: Kevin Walter has been disappointing but now he automatically becomes a 2/3rd progression for QB Matt Schuab. The Texans have a pass heavy offense and the unfortunate season ending knee injury to TE Owen Daniels should open the door for WR Kevin Walter. The Texans also have a friendly schedule for the remainder of the season.
A: I wouldn’t worry because it wasn’t him, but QB Garrard who had an awful game. MSW is the Jaguars most explosive WR so keep him in your lineup next week when they host the Chiefs.
A: On the season, Burleson has been targeted more than Housh (66-59). I think Hasselbeck likes Burelson more because he is a playmaker. Housh is just a possession guy and unless they get into the red-zone he won’t be making plays.
A: No, the Arizona Cardinals lost that game. The Panthers run the ball very effectively and will do that the majority of the time. Jake only attempted 14 passes in week 8 and also left because of a chest injury…stay away from Jake this season.
A: Yes, take a look at their remaining schedules (including playoffs) and you will want Cedric Benson in your lineup each week rather than Forte. Not to mention Benson is playing at a much higher level and the Bears offense, not so much.
