2011 SEASON
Received first-team All-Big XII Conference honors from The NFL Draft Report, Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News, adding second-team accolades from the league’s coaches, Associated Press, Kansas City Star and Fort Worth Star-Telegram... Earned UT's Dr. Nasser Al-Rashid Strength & Conditioning Award...Started all 13 games at nose guard, recording 34 tackles (12 solo), one sack and five tackles for loss (14 yards)…Helped Texas lead the conference and rank sixth in the nation in rushing defense (96.23 yards per game).

2010 SEASON
Earned All-Big Twelve Conference honorable mention by the coaches and the Associated Press…Started all 12 games, registering a career-high 39 tackles (23 solo) with one sack…Ranked second on the squad with 13.0 tackles for loss (37 yards)…Deflected three passes and had a pair of blocked kicks…Helped Texas rank sixth in the nation in total defense (300.17 yards per game) and pass defense (161.6 yards per game).

2009 SEASON
Started 10 of the 14 games he played in, recording 23 tackles (12 solo) with two sacks (12 yards) and three tackles for loss (15 yards)…Caused one fumble and broke up one pass…Helped UT rank 12th nationally in scoring defense (16.71 points per game), third in total defense (251.93 yards per game), first in rushing defense (72.36 yards per game), 10th in pass efficiency defense (100.5 rating) and 19th in pass defense (179.6 yards per game)...The 2009 Longhorn unit’s rush defense average is the sixth-lowest ever by a Texas team in a season.

2008 SEASON
Appeared in eight games at strong-side defensive tackle, recording two tackles and a pass deflection…His pass breakup came vs. Texas-El Paso in his college debut.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont, Texas, playing football for head coach Mike Long…Mentored by former All-American and NFL star Frank Middleton, who is an assistant coach at Kelly after playing at Beaumont West Brook, Arizona and in the NFL (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1997-2000; Oakland Raiders, 2001-04)...Was a two-time all-state and three-time TAPPS 3-6A all-district selection at defensive tackle…Ranked in the top 20  nationally at defensive tackle by Rivals.com and was a member of that recruiting service’s Top 250 national prospects…Voted the state's third defensive tackle by Dave Campbell's Texas Football and was a member of Campbell's Super Team…Earned TAPPS first-team Division I all-state honors as a senior and was also a first-team all-district and all-Southwest selection…Helped lead Kelly High to a 9-1 record and a berth in the regional finals, posting 50 tackles, 11 sacks and two forced fumbles…Earned second-team TAPPS all-state and first-team all-district accolades as a junior after making 33 tackles… Received first team all-district honors as a sophomore…Also lettered in basketball and competed in track and field (shot put).
