Biography

Miller started 13-of-23 games at Miami, rushing for 1,918 yards with 15 touchdowns on 335 carries (5.73 ypc)…Caught 28 passes for 181 yards (6.46 ypc) and one score…Tallied 376 yards and a touchdown on 15 kickoff returns (25.07 avg), 16 yards on three punt returns (5.33 avg) and recorded one solo tackle on special teams…Scored 106 points that included a two-point conversion and 17 total touchdowns, finishing with 2,491 all-purpose yards, an average of 108.3 yards per game and 6.54 yards per attempt…Ran for over 100 yards nine times during his career, which rank sixth on the school all-time record chart…His seven 100-yard rushing efforts in 2011 tied Edgerrin James (1998) for fourth place on the UM  season record list…Gained 1,272 yards rushing in 2011, marking the eighth time a Hurricane gained 1,000 yards on the ground during a season. That total placed third on the Hurricanes’ season-record chart behind Willis McGahee (1,753 yards in 2002) and Edgerrin James (1,416 in 1998)…His 227 carries in 2011 placed behind McGahee (282 in 2002) and James (242 in 1998) on the school annual record list…His average of 106.0 yards per game rushing in 2006 rank sixth on the school season-record chart…His 1,519 all-purpose yards in 2011 also rank sixth on the Miami annual record list.
2011 SEASON
All-American third-team and All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection by The NFL Draft Report, adding second team All-ACC honors from the league’s coaches and media… The red-shirt sophomore started all 12 games, becoming just the eighth player in school history and first since Willis McGahee in 2002 to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season, totaling 1,272 yards on 227 carries (5.60 ypc), as both of those figures are good for third on the school annual record list…Scored nine times on the ground while gaining at least 100 yards rushing in seven contests, tied for fourth on the school season-record list…The recipient of the College Football Performance Award three times in 2011 (vs. Ohio State – 184 yards on 26 carries; Virginia Tech – 18 attempts for 166 yards and a score, adding 23 yards on three catches; Duke – 20 rushes for 147 yards), Miller also collected 119 yards (with a score, adding 100 yards on four kickoffs) vs. Maryland, had 106 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts vs. Kansas State, followed by 102 yards and a pair of scores on 14 carries vs. Bethune-Cookman and 114 yards with a 79-yard touchdown on 12 runs vs. Boston College…Fifth on the team with 17 receptions for 85 yards (5.0 ypc) and a score, as he also returned seven kickoffs for 162 yards (23.14 avg) and posted one solo tackle…Finished second in the league and 18th in the nation in rushing, averaging 106.0 yards per
game…Touched the ball 251 times for 1,519 all-purpose yards (sixth-best in school annals), as his average of 126.58 yards per game placed him fourth in the ACC and 47th nationally…Through the first four games of the season, Miller was the only back in America with a rush of 40-yards or more in every game. Had runs of 37 and 30 yards at Virginia Tech…Of his 12 rushes/receptions of 25-yards or more, nine came after halftime.

2010 SEASON
Miller played in 11 games, earning his only starting assignment at tailback in the Maryland clash…Finished second on the team with 108 carries for 646 yards (5.98 ypc) and six touchdowns…Placed sixth on the squad with 11 receptions for 96 yards (8.73 ypc), as he also totaled 214 yards with an 88-yard touchdown (vs. Ohio State) on eight kickoff returns (26.75 avg)…Also returned three punts for 16 yards, giving him 972 all-purpose yards, an average of 88.36 yards per game and 7.48 yards per attempt…Was twice named ACC Rookie of the Week following the Florida A&M (made his collegiate debut with 11 runs for 65 yards and a touchdown, adding a 15-yard punt return and a 34-yard kickoff return to go with an 8-yard
catch) and the Virginia Tech (season-best 163 yards and a score on 15 attempts) games...After rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on 22 tries and snaring two passes for 20 yards vs. Maryland, Miller was named the Rivals.com National Rookie of the Week...Also scored once behind 11 carries for 85 yards vs. Georgia Tech.

HIGH SCHOOL
Miller attended Killian (Miami, Fla.) High School, playing football for head coach Steve Smith…Rated the 80th-best overall prospect in the nation by Rivals.com during his senior season…That recruiting service regarded him as the tenth-best running back in the country, as ESPN placed him 12th at that position while Scout.com considered him the seventh-best prep tailback…Earned All-State second-team honors as a junior, amassing 154 carries for 1,126 yards with 12 scores…In 2008, Miller garnered All-State first-team recognition from the Florida Sportswriters Association and was named All-American by Parade magazine…Led Dade County in rushing as senior, carrying 217 times for 1,749 yards and 22 touchdowns…That performance also earned Miller spots on the Orlando Sentinel All-Southern (Fla.) and Mobile Press Register Super Southeast 120 squads.
