Miami Dolphins Partner with Madrid Bravos to Grow American Football in Spain

MADRID, Spain – The Miami Dolphins today announced its partnership with the Madrid Bravos, marking the organization's continued long-term commitment to Spain and growing the sport of American football in the country. Through the partnership, the Miami Dolphins become the Exclusive American Football Team Supporter of the Madrid Bravos in Spain, helping expand grassroots initiatives and providing access to the sport.

This collaboration will support the Dolphins international initiatives and reinforce the organization's commitment to growing the sport of American football in Spain. With flag football set to debut as an Olympic sport at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, the Dolphins will continue to introduce the sport to new audiences by providing access through youth-focused clinics and camps at local schools and clubs across Spain. The Madrid Bravos will play a key role in supporting these efforts, helping to bring the game to new communities, engage new fans and inspire the next generation of athletes.

"We are proud of this partnership with the Madrid Bravos. The Bravos have done an incredible job driving the growth of American football in Spain," said Felipe Formiga, Vice President of International Development for the Miami Dolphins. "Since getting marketing rights in Spain in 2022 through the NFL's Global Markets Program, our goal has been to connect with Spanish fans authentically and help grow the game. This partnership reinforces our commitment to Spain, the fans and the future of football here."

"This partnership represents a decisive step for the growth of American football in Spain and reaffirms the Madrid Bravos' position as a gateway for NFL teams into an emerging market like Spain," said Jaime Martín, General Manager of Madrid Bravos. "Working alongside the Miami Dolphins means joining one of the most historic and successful franchises in the NFL. We are confident that this alliance will help us grow in many areas, combining local expertise and global vision to develop new generations, strengthen the community and bring this sport closer to fans."

Earlier this year, the Dolphins hosted their first Junior Dolphins clinics in Spain, welcoming nearly 80 coaches and more than 400 students across two locations in Barcelona and Madrid. The clinics aimed to introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of American football while offering local coaches hands-on instruction from Junior Dolphins coaches. On Thursday, Nov. 13, the Dolphins and Washington Commanders hosted a joint flag football clinic that had more than 180 youth participate.

The Dolphins are one of three NFL teams awarded marketing rights in Spain through the league's Global Markets Program (GMP) in 2022. Since then, the organization has been actively engaging Spanish fans through a series of unique activations – including official watch parties, a 2024 NFL Draft moment featuring Spanish football legend Fernando Torres and Junior Dolphin Flag Football clinics.

As the team prepares for its historic game in Spain this Sunday at the Bernabeu, this partnership underscores the organization's commitment to a long-term presence in the country, extending far beyond Sunday's game.
