With one month until DCC XVI, the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) announced Grammy Award-winning rock band, Blues Traveler, as the headliner for the Finish Line Celebration at its signature ride, run/walk event taking place on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Since forming at Princeton High School in New Jersey in 1987, Blues Traveler has sold over 8 million albums. Their hits "Runaround,' 'Hook,' and 'But Anyway' have inspired millions more as the band has played thousands of shows all over the globe. They will perform at the culmination of DCC XVI as riders, runners, walkers, survivors and supporters come together to celebrate the impact of their collective efforts.
This year's event will once again take place at Hard Rock Stadium's Miami International Autodrome (MIA) and feature ride distances honoring Dolphins Pro Football Hall of Famers. The 13-mile Dan Marino Ride, 39-mile Larry Csonka Ride, 54-mile Zach Thomas Ride presented by Guardant Health and 99-mile Jason Taylor Ride will debut reimagined routes to deliver a refreshed experience riding through scenic South Florida.
The organization is nearing a historic milestone of raising $100 million since its inception to support innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine. The DCC continues to advance its mission thanks to key partners that include the Lennar Foundation, AutoNation, Guardant Health and Sylvester.
Founded in 2010 in honor former Dolphins player and broadcaster Jim "Mad Dog" Mandich, the DCC has grown into the largest fundraiser in the NFL, with 100 percent of participant-raised funds benefiting Sylvester. Funds raised through the event have helped support key advancements at Sylvester including expanded access to cancer care across 13 regional locations, the development of the Kenneth C. Griffin Cancer Research Building, and the recruitment of world-class physicians and scientists advancing cancer research and treatment establishing Sylvester as an NCI-designated cancer center– the only in Florida.
DCC funding also supports survivorship initiatives such as Believe In You, a free 20-week training and wellness program developed by Sylvester experts designed to help survivors build strength, resilience and long-term health.
Registration for DCC XVI closes February 13. Visit DolphinsCancerChallenge.com to register or donate today.
