The 2026 season marks the 18th year of coaching for Addae, including 15 at the collegiate level and three in the NFL.
Prior to joining Miami, Addae spent two seasons as the cornerbacks coach for the Buffalo Bills (2024-25).
In 2025, Buffalo finished first in passing defense, holding opponents to 156.9 yards per game. Cornerback Christian Benford became the first player in team history to score a defensive touchdown in consecutive games, after returning a fumble recovery for a touchdown at Pittsburgh in Week 13 and tallying a pick-six against Cincinnati in Week 14.
In 2024, Addae coached a group that recorded three defensive touchdowns, tied for the third most in the league. Under his tutelage, both Benford and cornerback Cam Lewis set career highs in tackles, while cornerback Taron Johnson and Lewis set career highs in interceptions.
Addae spent two seasons (2022-23) with the Miami Hurricanes, where he served as the secondary coach. During his two-year tenure, the defensive backs totaled 25 interceptions.
In 2023, Addae coached safeties Kamren Kinchens and James Williams, who were both selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Kinchens earned first-team All-ACC honors for the second straight year after tying his career high in tackles and tallying a team-high five interceptions.
In his first season with the Hurricanes, Addae helped develop cornerbacks Tyrique Stevenson and DJ Ivey, who both were selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Kinchens led the team in tackles and interceptions, earning him First-Team All-America and First-Team All-ACC honors.
Prior to his time with the Hurricanes, Addae spent the 2021 season at Georgia as a secondary coach, where he helped guide the Bulldogs to a national championship.
In 2021, Georgia ranked No. 13 in the nation in pass defense, allowing just 190 yards per game and tallied 16 interceptions, the eighth-best mark in the country. The Bulldogs led the nation in scoring defense, red zone defense and ranked second in total defense.
Addae spent two seasons (2019-20) at West Virgina, where he served as defensive secondary coach (2019) and cornerbacks coach (2020).
In 2020, Addae helped the Mountaineers rank first nationally in pass defense, allowing just 159.6 yards per game, and finished fourth in the country in total defense, allowing 283.5 yards per game.
In his first season at West Virginia (2019), Addae coached two All-Big 12 conference selections in cornerback Keith Washington II and safety Josh Norwood. Washington II finished with a team-leading three interceptions and 12 passes defended, ranking No. 23 nationally.
Addae spent the 2018 season at the University of Minnesota, where he served as defensive backs coach and assisted on special teams. The special teams unit led the nation in punt return yards per return (22.3), while the punt return defense ranked second (1.11 yards per return).
Prior to Minnesota, Addae spent five years (2013-17) at Arizona where he served as defensive analyst (2013-15) and defensive backs coach (2016-17). Addae developed a youthful defensive secondary into some of the team's top performers. In 2017, his secondary combined for 261 tackles, 24 pass breakups and 12 interceptions.
Addae spent two seasons (2010-11) at the University of Cincinnati as running backs coach, where he mentored All-Big East first-team selection running back Isaiah Pead.
In 2011, Pead led the conference with 1,259 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. Pead averaged 96.9 yards per game and was Cincinnati's first 1,000-yard rusher in almost a decade and at the time, the Bearcats' seventh player to hit the mark.
Before coaching the Bearcats, Addae served as Cincinnati's director of player development. He also managed many of the team's off-the-field responsibilities, including the Cats In The Community program.
Prior to his time at Cincinnati, he was a defensive graduate assistant at Michigan for two seasons (2008-09), where he worked with the Wolverines' secondary and scout team offense.
A Valrico, Florida native, Addae was a four-year starter, two-time captain and two-time All-Big East defensive back at West Virginia. He was selected for the Senior Bowl in 2006 and participated in the NFL Combine. He signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his hometown team, in 2006 and spent the end of the season with the Indianapolis Colts.
Addae is married to Maryann, his high school sweetheart of 19 years. He and his wife have three sons, Agyeman, Ayden and Amaree. Agyeman is a freshman at UCF where he plays running back, and Ayden is a freshman at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami.
