Ryan Crow joined the Miami Dolphins as outside linebackers coach in 2024.
The 2025 season marks his eighth as an NFL coach and second with Miami after spending six seasons (2018-23) with Tennessee. He also spent seven years as a collegiate coach.
In 2024, Crow oversaw the development of rookie linebacker Chop Robinson, who steadily improved over 17 games for a breakout season. He totaled 26 tackles (16 solo), 6.0 sacks, eight tackles for loss, 14 quarterback hits and four passes defensed. His 6.0 sacks and 14 quarterback hits were both the second-most among NFL rookies in 2024. Robinson was named to the 2024 PFWA All-Rookie Team and a finalist for the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
In Crow's three seasons (2021-23) as Tennessee's outside linebackers coach, he helped several Titans defenders to some of the best seasons in their career including Denico Autry and Harold Landry III. The Titans finished in the top half of the league in rushing defense all three seasons.
Denico Autry's three seasons with Crow led to three of the four highest sack totals of his 10-year NFL career – 9.0 in 2021, 8.0 in 2022 and a career-high 11.5 in 2023 – when at 33 years old, Autry was the oldest player in the NFL with double-digit sacks that season. Landry totaled 10.5 sacks that season, making the Titans one of just four teams (Jacksonville, Kansas City and Miami) with multiple players with 10.0-plus sacks in 2023.
Despite Landry missing the entire 2022 season and Autry missing five games due to injuries, Crow helped Tennessee's defense lead the NFL in rushing defense, allowing just 76.9 rushing yards per game, and rushing average, allowing just 3.35 yards per carry. Tennessee finished third in third-down defense (34.2).
In Crow's first season as outside linebackers coach in 2021, he helped Landry earn Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his career. Landry totaled a career-high 12.0 sacks and was tied for second on the team with 75 tackles. His 12.0 sacks ranked 10th in the league and were the most by a Titan since 2010 (Jason Babin, 12.5), and he was one of just four NFL players to have 75-plus tackles and 10.0-plus sacks in 2021 (Micah Parsons, Aaron Donald and Cameron Heyward). Autry had 9.0 sacks of his own, tied for 21st in the NFL. Tennessee won 12 games and the AFC South, ranking sixth in scoring defense (20.8) and second in rushing defense (84.6).
Crow was Tennessee's assistant special teams coach in 2020. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski set a franchise record with seven field goals made from 50-plus yards while punter Brett Kern placed 59.5 percent of his punts (22 of 37) inside the 20-yard line, which was the best single-season percentage by an NFL punter since 1991 (min. 30 punts). Tennessee won the AFC South after finishing 11-5.
Crow spent the 2018-19 seasons as a defensive assistant for Tennessee, helping the Titans post winning records in both seasons and advance to the AFC Championship game in 2019. During those two years, the Titans were fifth in scoring defense (19.8). The 2018 team ranked sixth in the league in passing defense (216.9) while the 2019 Titans were eighth in third-down defense (36.3).
In 2017, Crow was a graduate assistant at Ohio State, where he primarily worked with linebackers.
Crow spent three years at Baldwin Wallace, where he was the offensive line coach for one season (2014) and offensive coordinator/offensive line for two seasons (2015-16).
From 2011-13, Crow was at Purdue where he spent one year (2011) as assistant strength and conditioning coach and two years (2012-13) as a graduate assistant working with the offensive line.
Crow was a walk-on linebacker at Bowling Green, where he earned a scholarship and earned his degree in exercise science. He spent the spring of 2011 as a strength intern at Florida.
Crow is a native of Findlay, Ohio.
