Zach Yenser joined Miami in 2026 as offensive line coach. The 2026 season marks Yenser's sixth season coaching in the NFL. He also has 13 years of coaching experience at the college level and one year of coaching high school.

Prior to joining the Dolphins, Yenser spent two seasons with the Houston Texans (2024-25) as the assistant offensive line coach. He helped oversee a room that included left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who in 2024 started all 17 regular season games and two playoff games, allowed just one sack and produced the third-best pass blocking grade in the AFC (89.1) en route to earning his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection. The offensive line also helped running back Joe Mixon rush for 1,016 yards on 245 carries with 11 touchdowns. Mixon had seven 100-yard rushing games and earned his second career Pro Bowl selection.
Yenser previously spent two seasons (2022-23) at Kentucky, where he served as offensive line coach.
At Kentucky, Yenser oversaw an offensive line that showed improvement over two seasons. In 2023, the offensive line tied to allow the second-fewest sacks in the SEC (22) and also led the conference in plays of 50-plus yards (11). Under Yenser's tutelage, offensive lineman Eli Cox earned second-team All-SEC honors.
The offensive line also blocked for running back Ray Davis, who totaled 1,452 all-purpose yards (1,129 rushing) and 21 touchdowns, including 14 rushing touchdowns. Davis earned second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC honors.
In 2022, the offensive line blocked for running back Chris Rodriguez Jr., who totaled five games of 100-plus rushing yards despite missing four, and quarterback Will Levis, who ranked fifth in the SEC in passing efficiency (151.87). Yenser mentored offensive lineman Jager Burton, who earned Freshman All-SEC honors.
Yenser's first stint coaching in the NFL came with the San Francisco 49ers, where he spent three seasons (2019-21) as the assistant offensive line coach.
In 2021, San Francisco ranked seventh in the NFL in total offense (375.7) and seventh in rushing offense (127.4). The 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship for the second time in three seasons and did not allow a sack during postseason play. Yenser helped oversee a unit that included left tackle Trent Williams, who earned first-team All-Pro honors for the first time in his career (second-team All-Pro in 2015). Williams also earned two consecutive Pro Bowl selections in 2020-21.
In 2019, the 49ers offense ranked second in the NFL in rushing offense (144.1) and fourth in total offense (381.1). The offensive line blocked for three players who each rushed for more than 500 yards (Raheem Mostert, Matt Breida, Tevin Coleman), marking the second time in franchise history and first since 1954. The team's rushing attack anchored its offense in the playoffs, averaging 204.4 yards in a postseason run that included an appearance in Super Bowl LIV.
Prior to San Francisco, Yenser served as an offensive quality control coach at Southern Methodist University in 2018.
Yenser spent three seasons (2015-17) at Kansas as the offensive line coach/run game coordinator. Yenser helped coordinate an offensive attack that averaged more than 100 rushing yards per game each year (102.6 in 2017, 119.1 in 2016 and 112.9 in 2015).
In 2016, the offensive line blocked for running back Ke'aun Kinner who totaled 140 carries for 738 rushing yards (5.3 avg) and three touchdowns.
Before his time at Kansas, Yenser spent two seasons (2013-14) as the offensive line coach at the University of California. In 2014, the offensive line anchored the Bears as they recorded single-season records in passing yards (4,152), passing touchdowns (37) and total yards per game (495.2). Yenser oversaw the development of offensive lineman Chris Borrayo who earned an All-Pac-12 honorable mention.
Yenser spent three seasons at Louisiana Tech (2010-12), first as a graduate assistant working with the offensive line (2010-11) before he was promoted to assistant offensive line coach (2012).
In 2012, Louisiana Tech led the NCAA in points per game (51.5) and total offense (577.9 yards per game). The Bulldogs also ranked third in passing offense (350.8). Yenser helped oversee the development of three offensive linemen who earned first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors: Stephen Warner (2011 and 2012), Kris Cavitt (2011) and Jordan Mills (2012). Oscar Johnson and Kevin Sia each earned second-team All-WAC honors in 2012.
In 2009, Yenser coached the offensive line at Colquitt County High School in Norman Park, Georgia, where he helped guide the Packers to an 11-3 record and an appearance in the state semifinals.
In 2008, Yenser served as the offensive line coach at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He began his coaching career at his alma mater Troy in 2007, where he spent a season as a graduate assistant working with the offensive line and special teams.
Yenser was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Troy (2003-06), where he played in 42 consecutive games. Voted a captain his senior season, he helped lead the Trojans to a split Sun Belt Conference title and earned first-team all-conference honors.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication and fine arts from Troy in 2007. Yenser also earned his master's degree in science with a concentration in sports performance from Louisiana Tech in 2012. A Fort Mitchell, Ky. native, Yenser later moved to Kennesaw, Ga. He and his wife, Beth, have two sons, Graham and Max.
