Willie Jones joined the Miami Dolphins in 2026 as the assistant director of strength and conditioning.

Before joining the Dolphins, Jones spent five seasons (2021-25) with the University of Minnesota athletic performance staff and worked with the football program. He served as the assistant director of athletic performance for three seasons before he was promoted to associate director of athletic performance in 2024.

Jones spent five seasons (2016-20) at the University of Illinois as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Prior to his time with the Fighting Illini, Jones spent seven seasons (2009-15) as an assistant strength and condition coach for the Nebraska football team, where he assisted in all of the day-to-day operations of the Huskers' strength and conditioning program.

Jones began his coaching career at his alma mater, South Dakota State, where he spent two years (2007-08) as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. Jones was a three-year letterman as a defensive lineman for the Jackrabbits. He earned his bachelor's degree in health promotion in 2007 and later completed his master's in sports science from SDSU.

Jones and his wife, Andrea, have three children, Krayton, Asher and Everly. He also has a son, Cameron.
