Fast Facts: David Ojabo

The Dolphins have officially signed EDGE David Ojabo. A second-round pick in 2022, Ojabo played 32 games over the past four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

Overcoming plenty of adversity early in his career, Ojabo has played his best football over the last two seasons, and the Dolphins hope that trajectory continues.

1. By the numbers

At 6-foot-4, 252 pounds, Ojabo is the prototypical build for an NFL edge defender. His makeup and twitch made him one of the top draft prospects in 2022, but a pre-draft setback dropped him to the second round.

In four years with Baltimore, Ojabo logged 4.5 sacks, 28 tackles and 10 quarterback hits. In 2024, he played a career-high 292 defensive snaps as part of the Ravens' rush rotation, setting a career high with 12 quarterback pressures.

2. International talent

Ojabo was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and his family moved to Aberdeen, Scotland when he was 7 years old. The Ojabos then came to the United States when David was 17. He attended Blair Academy in New Jersey, where he first took up basketball before transitioning to the gridiron and developing a passion for football.

Despite limited football experience, Ojabo committed to the University of Michigan where he enjoyed a dominant junior season before entering the NFL Draft.

3. It's how you respond

It's not uncommon for players to go off the draft board early and have productive NFL careers despite being relatively new to the game. That was the path Ojabo was on with two years of playing experience after a brief college career.

Then, adversity hit. Ojabo suffered an injury at his Michigan Pro Day and went from being ranked the No. 18 overall prospect on NFL.com's 2022 draft rankings to No. 45. Despite missing playing time his first two seasons, Ojabo continued to push forward. He has played 27 games over the last two seasons and is still only 25 years old. He's looking to make a splash in Miami.
