Pregame Notes | Dolphins vs. Ravens

Notes_BAL2
  • Veteran running back Frank Gore will be in the lineup for the first time this preseason when the Dolphins face the Baltimore Ravens at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday.
  • Gore was kept out of the first two preseason games and Head Coach Adam Gase said he didn't need to see him carry the ball before the start of the regular season, at the same understanding full well Gore really wanted to play.
  • It will mark the first game in a Dolphins uniform for Gore, who grew up in Miami and starred at Coral Gables High School and the University of Miami.
  • Wide receiver Kenny Stills and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips will be back in the lineup after sitting out the game against the Carolina Panthers because of injuries.
  • Stills was nursing an ankle injury, while Phillips was dealing with a shoulder injury.
  • Wide receiver DeVante Parker will sit out again because of a hand injury, though it was undetermined whether Jakeem Grant or Albert Wilson would replace him in the starting lineup.
  • Quarterback Bryce Petty (oblique), safety Trae Elston (shoulder) and wide receiver Leonte Carroo (groin) will join the list of players missing a preseason game because of injuries.
  • Rookie running back Kalen Ballage, who didn't practice all week because he was in the concussion protocol, also will not play. Tight end MarQueis Gray, who was in the protocol during the week but did practice, will be in uniform.
  • The others players who will miss the game because of injuries are LB Mike Hull (knee), DE William Hayes (hamstring) and OL Jake Brendel (calf).
  • The Dolphins will wear their aqua jerseys with white pants.
  • Troy Drayton, Terry Kirby, O.J. McDuffie and Shawn Wooden will be the honorary captains.
