Rookie fifth-round pick Isaac Asiata will be active for the first time this season when the Dolphins face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
The guard from the University of Utah was inactive for the first 15 games of the season.
Sterup starts: Offensive tackle Zach Sterup will make his first NFL start against the Bills. He will take the place of left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who is inactive because of an ankle injury. Sterup has appeared in five games since being signed off the Cleveland Browns practice squad Nov. 8.
Tankersley out: Rookie cornerback Cordrea Tankersley will be back in the lineup after missing the past three games because of ankle/shoulder injuries he sustained in the 35-9 victory against the Denver Broncos on Dec. 3. Tankersley is expected to retake his place in the starting lineup.
Duarte dresses: Tight end Thomas Duarte will be active for the first time this season. He was promoted off the practice squad before the game against Kansas City.
Williams still out: Running back Damien Williams will miss his fifth consecutive game because of the shoulder injury he sustained in the game at Gillette Stadium on Nov. 26.
Lineup notes: Quarterback David Fales again will serve as the backup quarterback, with Matt Moore sitting out a fifth consecutive game because of a foot injury. … Along with Moore, Williams and Tunsil, the Dolphins inactives will be CB Alterraun Verner, S Trae Elston, T Eric Smith and WR Rashawn Scott. Elston was claimed off waivers from the Bills on Saturday.
Opponent info: The list of Buffalo inactives consists of WR Malachi Dupre, CB Shareece Wright, CB Breon Borders, T Conor McDermott, G John Miller, TE Logan Thomas and WR Brandon Reilly.
This and that: Tackle Sam Young will serve as a game captain and long-snapper John Denney will replace Michael Thomas as the special teams captain against Kansas City.
